So, as you all can tell, I have rearranged the look of this site and have added pictures from previous trips to Haiti. Now that I have this new look to my site, I figured I should start utilizing it.
Some things have changed since the last time I posted back in 2012, so much so that I feel like a new woman! A couple days after my last post, I got engaged to the man of my dreams. We got married that October and have been married a little over a year and a half now. It's been amazing! I love marriage! I feel like I'm this completely new person, but a better person. Marriage prunes a person to be better because once you get married, you realize just how incredibly selfish you are. But, you get to grow with your spouse and experience just how awesome marriage can be as long as you let God be in the center. That makes all the difference in the world.
I also changed schools, twice, since the last time I posted. I now go to IUPUC and am studying business marketing. One day, I hope to be a wedding planner. That would be my dream job. I'm hoping it's in God's plan but we'll see.
I want to use this site again as a way to tell you all about what God is doing in my life whether it be through mission trips, volunteering with middle school, or reading a new book that lights a fire within me for Christ. Since I'm on summer break, I'm currently trying to read a few books a month until my classes start up again in the fall. Right now, I'm reading a book called "Lost in Transmission" by Nicolas Perrin. I'll post a blog post about it separately, but, it's amazing. It's all about how we can know that the words of the Bible are true and God-breathed. I'd definitely recommend it.
Also, this summer I will be going to BigStuf with the high school students at CCG. I'm very excited for this trip. God used BigStuf to change my life as a freshman in high school so I love going back to see what he continues to do through this ministry in the lives of high school students.
After BigStuf, I'll be going on a week long trip to New York City as a mission trip. We will be working with the homeless and will be able to take a tour of the city on our off days. One of the days, we will be doing a prayer tour, the others, we will be sharing the gospel, and another day, we will be cleaning up the place where we will be staying. I'm excited for everything and I cannot wait to see what God has in store. I'll keep you updated.
I think that's it as far as just updating you all on where I'm at in life. I know a bunch of people have blogs so if you made it to the end of mine, thanks. I really appreciate you taking the time to read about what God is doing in my life. Spread the word about this blog. I'd love to see how God can use it. I'll update soon... 'til next time, enjoy!
