I had a rough first day though. Every spare tiem I had, I spent crying because I was missing home. It wasn't easy yesterday for me, but I made it through the day and I am much better today. I think I may have had too much free time yesterday haha and today I was busy with everythign else so I didnt have time to think or miss home.
Today, I helped teach 1st graders and I loved it! We did a bible study in the morning then math and reading and reading and writing and phonics. We did a lot today and I was able to lead the craft which if you know my craft skills, you should be laughing right now haha I was when they asked me to lead it lol! But, they all ended up being able to do it. We just cut out butterflies and glued pieces of squares and triangles to the butterfly to make it pretty.
After the school day, I was standing in the door way watching the kids go home and get picked up. It was the most beautiful scene ever. the sky was a perfect blue with little white clouds here and there and in the background was a huge mountain outlining the gorgeous view. And right there in the middle of the schoolyeard were kids playing and laughing. It was a sight to see. I got pictures :)
Then, around 330pm I went to an English class where adults here are learning to speak English. They asked me questions to practice there English and I got to tell them all about life in Indiana, boring haha. But I told them about my family and they loved that I'm a twin. There were a lot of questions about that. I also told them I'm a runner and they thought it was crazy to just go out and run 14 miles. I think they have that in common with a lot of you out there.
I think that's all I have as far as updating goes. I won't update as often as I thought, but I will update when I can. Probably once or twice a week. If you want to send me something in the mail, I would not be opposed. And snacks would be a great idea! (Mayeb with a little note of encouragement and verses that you think are relevant.) I would love that. I wrote the address in a message to Johnny and I told her to give it to Rhea. I would write it on here, but I dont have it next to me. So if you want to send me something, get the address from Rhea. Thank you all for your prayers. Please pray for strength and enough time in the day to accomplish everything that needs to get done here on the compound. I will write more prayer requests later, but I ran out of time. Pray that the team here is open to what God needs done here and that we would be willing to be used in any way possible and that it would get done. Thank you again! I appreciate all the support. Keep praying. I miss everyone at home!
Rhea: Your quote to guess (I'm having a hard time thinking of one, this will be easy): "Diane, get your butt over here this instant or I will come over there anf drag you to the church." (
